High School Sports Wrap-Up from Wales
Wales had an exciting night of high school basketball with several teams battling it out on the court.
Notre Dame Tops Hartford
The Notre Dame Tritons pulled away from the Hartford Hawks, scoring a remarkable 55 points in the second half for a final score of 87 to 65. Kaia Waldrop led Notre Dame with a phenomenal 31 points, while her teammates joined in on the scoring frenzy: Peyton Musial added 19 points, and both Aspen Abel and Destiny Webster chipped in with 14 and 12 points respectively. For Hartford, Christian led the team with 23 points.
Homestead Beats Neenah
In another matchup, the Homestead Highlanders defeated the Neenah Rockets with a score of 64 to 47. Rowan Klesmit put up an impressive 21 points for Neenah, but it wasn’t enough against Homestead’s balanced attack, including Zortman’s 18 points and Fitzgibbon’s 17 points.
The Prairie School Holds Off Appleton East
The Prairie School also enjoyed a good victory over Appleton East, finishing the game at 63 to 43. JJ Barnes was the standout for The Prairie School with 25 points, while Ella Sweeney led Appleton East with 14 points.
Freedom Triumphs Over Slinger
In a close-fought battle, Freedom’s Donovan Davis notched an impressive 36 points and secured 17 rebounds against the Slinger team, leading them to a 70 to 55 win. Drew Kortz also contributed significantly with 20 points.
Marinette Stages Comeback
In the Marinette against Coleman game, Marinette overcame a halftime deficit by scoring 41 points in the second half, winning 68 to 64. Victor Kostreva led the charge for Coleman with 23 points, but Marinette’s persistence paid off.
